YMCA
So, I joined the YMCA the other day. The 17th to be exact…I think. I signed up for an initial class they’re offering for something called FitLinxx. I won’t go into detail, but FitLinxx was quite possibly, the WORST invention ever. It sucked. I think it’s a program designed for newbies. I may be fat, outta shape and fat, but I’m not a newbie in the gym.
Anyway, after the shortened version of the FitLinxx class (it was shortened because me and the Y rep came to an understanding), I worked out.
I weighed in at 324 lbs…TERRIBLE.
I started my workout on a new version of an elliptical they had. I kinda liked the old one better, because your legs get a full revolution, but whatever, I’ll deal with it. It’s not like I’m one of those people who like to spend 30 and 40 mins on the cardio machines anyway. I’m off and on in 20 mins or less. I get a real good workout in those 20 mins because I utilize the time effectively.
Well I did about 8 mins or so of cardio. I then moved on to my personal favorite, the free weights. I did some chest presses, shoulder raises and attempted some push-ups. I then did some Tricep cable presses on the other machine (the name escapes me right now).
My wife showed up at this point and we did some ab workouts together. After that, I was done. It felt good! REAL good…to get my ass back in the gym. I truly can’t remember the last time I was in there. Whenever it was, it was TOO long ago.
So, my goal is to lose 100 lbs this year. I started the year at 327. So ultimately I’d like to be 227 by DEC 31st. I’d have to lose 2lbs every two weeks starting the week that I joined the Y.
I weigh in every TUE. I weighed in at 319 on TUE, so I seem to be ahead of schedule…nice.
WHAT I’M EATING
OK, so I’ve been eating like crap.
For the most part, breakfast would be on the healthy side, but as the day progresses, I lose all discipline. I personally think I’m addicted to food…but that’s a story for another day. I can’t put down the Chinese food, I can’t stop drinking calories, and for some reason I ate a lot of fried chicken over the past two weeks.
This will all change as of tomorrow. I’m making a shopping list after I finish writing this post. That will help out tremendously. ‘Cause seriously, most of my issues with the food is not having it in the house already and not making time to prep it and bring it to work. So I’ll be doing much better with my diet starting next week.
THE GOALS
The goals this week are simple:
Make a shopping list
Eat healthy for 6 out of 7 days ( I give myself a free day per week)
Hit the gym AT LEAST 4 times (once for upper body workout, once for lower body workout and abs, twice for cardio only)
Read a chapter in the ABS Diet book
